Truly amazing experience. The setting and Atmosphere was unbelievable. Loved the balcony seating. Food was incredible I had the ribeye with a side of risotto. Perfect and delicious. My guest had the salmon and it was equally delicious. The Duck cigars were superb. Our server Olivia was outstanding.. Very knowledgeable and took time to explain each dish we asked about and also told us the history of the building. This restaurant had been on my list of must visit places for many years, finally made it down to Gastonia and it was definitely worth it. Will definitely be back.
Robert was funny and spectacular. Was my friend's first time and I convinced him to try WCK instead of a similar restaurant in Uptown Charlotte. He said he was blown away by the food and service. Even though it wasn't my first time, excellent per usual.
This has to be one of the coolest restaurants that we have been to in while as far as atmosphere! It's set in an early beginning theater from the 1900's. Absolutely spectacular. The service is top tier as well. Gracie was our server and she was 5 stars all the way. The food however needs a bit of work. We started with the potato soup and fried green tomatoes. The soup was just ok the tomatoes were actually pretty good. Our entraeas arrived, i got the Chilean sea bass which was lacking in a bit of seasoning. The bacon risotto was a bit crunchy as well but not terrible, just not what I expected for the 60 dollar price point. The big disappoint was the charbroiled chicken my husband got. It's was very dry to the point it was hard to cut and stringy. Over all this was a great place to go for atmosphere but the food needs some work. We may give this place another try in the future, perhaps the kitchen was just having a bad night.
We come to WCK frequently for brunch on Sunday. Anytime we have friends/family visit, WCK is always planned on Sunday. Staff are super friendly and genuinely want you to have a good experience. Managers tend to walk around to check on you and express their appreciation for you dining with them. The restaurant itself has such an amazing atmosphere and a great story of how the building has transitioned through history. Okay, the food. Wow! My wife always orders the tenderloin medallions, same thing over and over, she loves them. I try something new each time. On a mission to find a meal at WCK that I wont like, but I fail this mission each time because everything I've eaten has been amazing! A few memorable dishes from the brunch menu that I like are: Tres Hombres Short Rib Omelet Quiche of the Day Chicken and Waffles Pictured below is the Spiced Tuna. I tried to find a random meal to throw them off on this search, and once again, WCK delivered. Phenomenal. If I had to find anything to be upset about, my wife and I are very questioned that they took the scone basket of the menu. It was a staple to our visit here but we understand the time restraint it took to make them. They replaced the scones with a pastry variety basket and also offer an Artisan bread basket, both great! We will continue to come to this beautiful restaurant and I will continue my mission to find something I dont like here, but im afraid I wont be successful, and thats okay..
We had heard about how nice this place was and have been wanting to go…we went to a Sunday Brunch and absolutely loved it! We can’t wait to go back on a “date night” here…our Server Magno gave us a great explanation about the history of the restaurant as well as details about the chef…hats off to the Chef and team, the wait and server staff were very attentive…the food was excellent, especially good value to quality relationship. The owner deserves high marks for managing the entire establishment! Perfect 5 (wouldn’t change a thing).
My first time at the Thanksgiving dinner event tonight; what a great an experience! I really love the atmosphere and tiered layout. The service was amazing and food was off the chain. I got the ribeye with green beans and mash, and the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I would love to come back to see their usual menu!!
We started with the Meatballs, which were a great appetizer, and the two rack Baby Back Ribs had amazing flavor. The strawberry rita was refreshing and well balanced. For my entrée, I had the Prime Kansas City Strip cooked medium , good but a bit tougher than I prefer. The mashed potatoes were creamy, well seasoned, and paired nicely with the steak.
